Email to ES President Marty Hilovsky from Ohio EPA regarding the Lockheed Martin Haley’s Ditch Restoration Project, Akron, Ohio:
“Marty,

I wanted to take the time to congratulate your company on the fine job of “re-engineering” Haley’s Ditch. I’m the NPDES permit writer for the Akron Airdock. [We] toured the site yesterday. Turning the ditch into a meandering stream with a flood plain and pools, cobblestone river bottom, [riffles] and pools along with hundreds of trees was impressive. We will go back next summer to check out the process.”

Letter from Kentucky DEP, Division of Waste Management to CSXT:
“…The KDWM has determined that the completion of the remedial actions documented in the [Sediment Removal Action Report] fulfills the obligations of [CSXT] for the contamination previously documented to exist in the referenced tributary as a result of historical operations at the Kentucky Wood Preserving Site.

The KDWM would also like to commend CSX and their consultants Geosyntec and EnviroScience, Inc. for having performed many difficult and complex tasks which were required to provide the investigative information, technical expertise, and performance of the subsequent remedial actions in a timely, effective and well documented manner.”

Letter from Steve Sapio, U.S. Forest Service to Dominion East Ohio:
“This memorandum is to recognize the outstanding cooperation that the Wayne National Forest has had with Dominion East Ohio, La Barge Company and EnviroScience Inc. Dominion East of Ohio saw the need to upgrade existing pipeline lines in south east Ohio to supply needed natural gas to private and public landowners. These projects involve large portions of the Wayne National Forest lands, which the federal government has strict guidelines to protect the natural resources and waters on this land. With the great care and oversight of Dan Hughes (Dominion East of Ohio), Michael Massoli (EnviroScience Inc) and the cooperation and outstanding construction methods of La Barge Company these projects have been implemented without any complications between the Wayne National Forest. Any issues that have arisen have been address[ed] in a timely manner and have been mitigated to meet all parties’ requirements.”

Letter from Devela J. Clark, U.S. Forest Service to Dominion East Ohio:
“In 2008, Dominion East Ohio Gas notified the Forest Service it would be requesting to replace sections of pipeline throughout the Marietta Unit of the Wayne National Forest. Since [that] time miles of old pipelines have been removed and new pipelines installed. I’d like to add the working relationship between the Wayne National Forest, Dominion East Ohio Gas, ES EnviroScience Inc. and sub-contractors has been invaluable. The high level of cooperation amongst these parties has resulted in the projects being in full compliance. In some instances, work activities have exceeded established standards we require to ensure protection of out forests natural resources.”
