Celebrating Environmental Engineer Elizabeth Wick
EnviroScience is proud to celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of Elizabeth Wick, who has been honored with the prestigious Arthur Sidney Bedell Award. This award was presented at the One Water Technical Conference, hosted by One Water Ohio—a collaboration between the Ohio Water Environment Association (OWEA) and the Ohio Section of the American Water Works Association (OAWWA). Elizabeth, Senior Environmental Engineer at EnviroScience, has demonstrated unparalleled dedication and expertise in the field of environmental engineering, contributing significantly to the company’s mission of promoting sustainable environmental practices.
The Arthur Sidney Bedell Award was established to acknowledge extraordinary personal service to a Member Association. General criteria for the award may include organizational leadership, administrative service, membership activity, stimulation of technical functions, or similar participation. However, the Member Associations have ultimate control over the selection of criteria. The award is named for the second president of the Federation, who exemplified its purpose by his long devotion and service to the New York Sewage and Industrial Wastes Association, now the New York Water Environment Association.
Elizabeth’s journey at EnviroScience is marked by her relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation. With a career spanning over 37 years, she has played a pivotal role in various high-impact projects, particularly in wastewater treatment and stormwater management. Her technical proficiency, combined with her ability to lead cross-functional teams, has resulted in groundbreaking solutions that have set new industry standards.
In addition to her technical achievements, Elizabeth is highly regarded for her commitment to mentorship and community engagement. She actively participates in educational outreach programs, inspiring the next generation of environmental engineers. Her passion for the environment extends beyond her professional endeavors, as she often volunteers for local conservation efforts and advocates for sustainable practices within her community.
The Water Environment Federation (WEF)’s recognition is a testament to Elizabeth’s outstanding contributions to environmental engineering. As noted in the latest edition of the Buckeye Bulletin, Elizabeth’s work has not only advanced the field but also positively impacted the quality of water resources in Ohio. Her innovative approaches to problem-solving and dedication to improving environmental outcomes have earned her the respect and admiration of her peers.
EnviroScience is immensely proud of Elizabeth Wick and her remarkable achievements. Her award is a well-deserved acknowledgment of her hard work, expertise, and unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability. We look forward to witnessing her continued contributions to the field and celebrating more of her successes in the future.
Congratulations, Elizabeth, on this prestigious honor. Your work inspires us all to strive for a more sustainable and environmentally conscious world.
